Artist Statement

I am a professional choreographer who produces work that invokes a new prespective on social and contemporary issue. I do this by to treading over boundaries that seem impenetrable, leaving the viewer  uncomfortable yet intrigued. I am doing this because I want to ensure that dance always remains a lens that sheds light on issues that have either stayed in the dark or have been given a one sided view. My art relates to that of my colleagues and peers, because there have been moments in every person’s life when they have fell victim to injustice its ramification. We can all relate to basic emotions such as fear, hate, trust, and love. I seek discourse around my artistic choices and process in order to chip away at the vast understanding of issuse that affect us as individuals. What I want others to understand about my artwork is that no matter  how big or how small the movement is, every moment within the dance should have you thinking, and should "move" you to a place of more understanding or more confusion...
